Create and direct a Quality Assurance department for one site.
Supervisethe Quality Assurance Technicians
Lead the Quality Assurance team in continuous quality improvement.
Implement compliance programs and initiatives.
Assist in the development quality, safety, and sanitation.
Maintain Food Safety/ HACCP plans
Limit food safety risks, including microbial risks and the potential for cross-contamination.
Manage the laboratory equipment qualification, calibration and maintenance program.
Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) and any other regulatory requirements.
Provide quality and technical expertise, issue, and manage Quality System procedures, test methods, and protocols.
Manage raw material, in-process, and finished product testing.
Quality Assurance review and disposition of raw materials and finished products.
Resolve quality processing issues through the use of and participation in cross functional teams. C
Corrective and preventative actions
Participate in product recall decisions and participate with all recalls.
Conduct and/or assist with Federal (FDA, APHIS, USDA), State, local, international, and third party audits.
Ensure that facility equipment and/or expansion details meet regulatory requirements.
Education and background experience Required:
BA/BS degree Technical or Science related field.
5+ years experience in the Feed/Food Industry
3 years Quality Assurance Management experience
Competency with 21 CFR Part 507, Current Good Manufacturing Practice, Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls for Food for Animals
PCQI training for Animal Food desired.
Use of Food Safety Plans and HACCP Programs.
Presentation, analytical, and organizational skills.
